  1. Talk to your team every day. This may seem excessive, but a group chat makes this step super savvy. There’s no harm in staying up to date. On the other hand, try to make time everyday to interact with your fans through social media platforms as a method to develop personal relationships with the fanbase. At the end of the day, fans are all you got.
  2. Try out new music styles that are derivative of your current genre. This is a great marketing strategy to keep your followers engaged and on their toes. It is also a great tool for upcoming artists because it’s a way to prepare music techniques and practice new skills.
  3. Whether you’re planning on releasing a new song or if you’re curious about a new music style, promote a snippet on YouTube. YouTube is a great way to create an authentic fanbase. Previews are like a sample piece that everyone loves to try. Snippets also allow you to analyze fan reactions prior to releasing (or not releasing) so that you’re able to predict the success of the song. If YouTube isn’t your thing, TikTok will also work great.
  4. Once you’ve posted a new song or preview, be sure to check out the insights from all the platforms you’ve posted your song. Insights provide information about the number of followers, their regions, and the amount of times your song was shared. You can get as creative as you want with your insights, which show your flexibility in marketing.
  5. Take some time out of your day to look at message boards. As said before, staying up to date with your fellow artists or record labels from message boards is harmless. Learning new business strategies will only give you more reason to be productive. Research business and marketing strategies used by other artists in message boards.
  6. Message boards are another great way to spread your message as an artist. Like YouTube, message boards allow you to get personal with your followers who prefer reading about your music to really get to know you. Here is where you can start your own threads and talk about what’s important to you when it comes to your music. Surprisingly, you can really win over hearts and minds on message boards.
  7. Listen to . “If you stop being curious, you’re never going to grow” — Julio Marin. There are plenty of podcasts from record labels, artists, and musicians. You can learn something new every day and stay motivated.
